Contexte :
We are seeking for a research engineer / post-doc interested to apply machine learning methods on large astrophysical datasets. The main challenge is to develop new tools to study star formation in the Galaxy. Such tools include classical ML methods, but also deep learning methods suited to heterogeneous Big Datasets. This work is in collaboration with astrophysicists from Rome and Naples (both with INAF) and is funded by Amidex.

Sujet :
Developing new tools for multimodal segmentation for star formation study. These tools will use all the recent methods from deep learning.

Profil du candidat :
We seek for someone with strong machine learning skills. Image processing kills are also welcomed.

Formation et compétences requises :
M2 or PhD in Data Science with a good mathematical background
Strong skills in Python
Some knowledge about classical ML toolbox like PyTorch/Tensorflow/Keras
