Contexte :
In the context of a two year R&D project, the LIP6 Laboratory is hiring a software engineer for the design and implementation of a user-profile database for online-advertisement applications. This database will provide users with a structured access to their profile data generated by two online advertising agencies collecting user interaction (transaction logs) and social media (Facebook, Twitter…) data. The workplace is at the LIP6 laboratory located on the Jussieu campus in the heart of the Paris Quartier Latin and the candidate will collaborate with colleagues from the industrial partners of the project also situated in Paris.

Sujet :
The final goal is to provide users with appropriate services to visualize and manage their personal data and to have a better control about the usage of this data through a high-level data privacy management interface. The hired engineer will be responsible for the concrete system design and the overall software to be engineered and realized.

Expected contributions

* Choice of the appropriate technical infrastructure.
* Design and implementation of a structured user profile model taking account of temporal and other aspects such as data security and privacy.
* Design and implementation of algorithms and services for transforming the raw data into this model (backend).
* Design and implementation of a structured visual user interface for interacting with user profile data (frontend).

Profil du candidat :
* Master in Computer Science or equivalent (engineer). Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree would require respective professional experience.

Formation et compétences requises :
* Advanced software development skills and practical experience in programming (Java, Python).
* Knowledge and practical experience with traditional and NoSQL databases and cloud data management environments.
* Capacity to understand new concepts and to work independently.
