The EDBT/ICDT Joint Conference is a major academic event in the field of databases and data management, combining two of the most prolific and respected conferences in the field.

The 2027 edition will be held on April 6th-9th 2027 in Lille, France.

The joint conference provides a platform for researchers and practitioners to present and discuss the recent advancements and challenges in both practical and theoretical aspects of database systems, marking it as an essential gathering for those involved in both database research and development.

EDBT invites submissions of original research contributions in the form of regular Research papers (long or short), Experiment & Analysis papers, and Vision papers related to all aspects of data management including:

ICDT welcomes research papers and Database Theory in Action on every topic related to the principles and theory of data management, provided that there is a clear connection to foundational aspects. This includes, for example, articles on “classical” data management topics such as the following:

• The theoretical investigation of various aspects underlying data management systems (e.g., Indexes, Concurrency and recovery, Distributed and parallel databases, Cloud computing, Privacy and security, Graph databases, Data streams and sketching, Data-centric (business) process management and workflows, Data and knowledge integration and exchange, Data provenance, Views, Data warehouses, Domain-specific databases – multimedia, scientific, spatial, temporal, text data, …).
• The design and study of data models and query languages.
• The development and analysis of algorithms for data management.
• Papers exploring existing or identifying new connections between data management and other areas, such as the areas of: knowledge representation, semantic web, web services, information retrieval and data mining, machine learning and artificial intelligence, distributed computing, and theoretical computer science.

SUBMISSION CYCLES AND DATES

EDBT 2027 will have three annual research paper submission rounds. Each author is limited to three (3) submissions per round. Each round includes an opportunity to submit a revision if the paper receives a ‘revise’ decision upon the first review phase. The final decision for papers that receive a ‘revise’ will be reached after a second phase of reviews within the corresponding submission round. All times are 5pm PST.
