Contexte :
Through the integration of cutting-edge capacities in ocean observation, data infrastructures as well as modelling and forecasting using innovative technologies, the European digital twin of the ocean will build a digital representation of marine and coastal environments. It will provide an innovative set of user-driven, interactive, and decision-making tools, backed by the best science and data. To reach this objective, a growing consensus envisions the critical contribution of AI technologies and data-driven paradigms to develop hybrid digital twins of the ocean.
Sujet :
This PhD position starting on fall 2024 is opened in the frame of a collaboration between OceaniX AI chair (Prof. Ronan Fablet), Mercator Ocean Intl (Dr. Charles-Emmanuel Testut) and MIT (Prof. Pierre Lermusiaux). It will explore research avenues at the crossroads of deep learning, data assimilation, uncertainty quantification and generative modeling.
