Contexte :
The candidate will be based mainly at INRIA team Mistis (Statistics) in Grenoble, France
Head : Florence Forbes (florence.forbes@inria.fr)
Web site: http://mistis.inrialpes.fr/

The work is also joint with two companies ACOEM (\http://www.acoemgroup.fr) and HIKOB (http://hikob.com) and regular visits to the partners in Lyon are expected.

Sujet :
This project is at the intersection of data fusion, statistics, machine learning and acoustic signal processing.
The general context is the surveillance and monitoring of a zone acoustic state from data acquired at a continuous rate by a set of sensors that are potentially mobile and of different nature.

The overall objective is to develop a prototype for surveillance and monitoring that is able to combine multi sensor data coming from acoustic sensors (microphones and antennas) and optical sensors (infrared cameras) and to distribute the processing to multiple algorithmic blocs.

Profil du candidat :
We look for candidates strongly motivated by challenging research topics.

Formation et compétences requises :
The applicant should have good background in image and signal processing, statistics. Required knowledge includes ideally Bayesian statistics, Bayesian networks, EM algorithm, mixture models, graphical models. Regarding software development, good programming skills are expected. The Matlab or C languages are possible. The successful candidate should have good oral and writing communication skills in English.
